The construction of GIANNA's Checkerboard Fair Trade Scarf comes from wall tapestries adorning the halls of monasteries and temples throughout Laos.

• This alternating style of weave was often used in conjunction with intricate designs to bring a sense of order and stability to the overall design aesthetic.
• Natural Dye: Tree bark and un-dyed silk.
• The deep dark color is created from coloring the silk threads in a natural dye made from tree bark. The alternating squares are the natural color of un-dyed silk.
