How We Work

We work with severely disadvantaged artisans around the world who typically live in rural poor villages or urban slums. GIANNA provides sustainable opportunities for meaningful work and on-going support, giving artisans a means to improve their lives and achieve their dreams.

Find Artisans and Discuss Fair Trade

Our work usually begins by identifying groups who already produce a craft, but need assistance building systems, improving product design, and finding markets. Once a target group has been identified, Gianna visits the village to discuss their goals and current situation. If the group has a genuine passion to work hard to improve their lives and the lives of those in their communities, we begin discussing their unique needs, fair trade, and other related matters specific to their village.

Collaboratively Design Products

The next step involves what we call a co-creative design process that blends indigenous designs with modern function and elegance. Throughout this process, GIANNA is conscientious about preserving cultural heritage while respecting the environment. This commitment is apparent in all that we do-from our fusion designs to our organic, recycled products to our focus on "regenerative commerce", a belief that by making values-based purchasing decisions, we can regenerate our planet.

More Than Market Access

This is only the beginning. In fact, at GIANNA, we hold in our hearts that selling products are simply a means to an end. They are the first step in creating true self-sufficiency that empowers producers to realize their relevancy in the world and achieve their dreams.

Thank you for visiting us and doing your part to improve our world.
